Welcome to this course

Remediation is the point where understanding becomes action. It is one thing to recognise that something went wrong and to reflect on why. It is another to take concrete, evidenced steps that fix the underlying problem and prove to a regulator that it will not happen again.

This is the course that teaches you to do that, and to show your working.

Remediation is also the single most important factor in how many fitness to practise cases are resolved. A regulator deciding what to do about a concern is really asking one question: is this professional safe to continue practising? A strong, well-evidenced remediation package is the clearest way to answer yes. A weak or absent one leaves the question open, and an open question in a regulatory context rarely ends well.

Everything here is self-contained. You need no prior course and no prior knowledge. We build the concepts from the ground up, including insight and reflective practice where they matter, so whether this is your first CrownEthics course or your fourth, you have everything you need.

Who this course is for

This course is written for all UK registered healthcare professionals across the eight regulators. It is especially relevant if a concern has been raised about your practice, if you are subject to an investigation or fitness to practise process, or if you have been asked by an employer, appraiser, or responsible officer to remediate a specific issue. It is also valuable as preparation, so that if a concern ever arises you already know how to respond.
