Remediation — Demonstrating Change is a professional development course for UK-registered healthcare professionals. Remediation is often the single most important factor in how a fitness to practise concern is resolved, yet most professionals are never shown how to build and evidence it properly.
This course teaches the full method: how to find the true cause of a concern, match the right remedial actions to it, build a structured evidence bundle, and present your remediation clearly at an appraisal, review, or hearing. Everything is taught from the ground up, so you need no prior course to get full value.

Do I need to do another course first?
No. This course is completely self-contained. It teaches remediation from the ground up, including the insight and reflective foundations it depends on, so you need no prior knowledge or any other course to get full value.
If you want to go deeper afterwards, the Insight and Reflection courses in the same series build on themes introduced here, but neither is required.
Does this help if I'm under investigation?
Yes. Remediation is often the single most important factor in how a concern is resolved. This course teaches you to build a remediation plan matched to the true cause, evidence durable change, and present it clearly, with a full worked example from concern to finished package.
No course can guarantee any regulatory outcome. If you are subject to a formal process, also seek advice from your defence organisation, trade union, or solicitor before submitting any document.
What will I actually be able to do?
Identify the real underlying cause of a concern, match the right remedial actions to it, build a structured evidence bundle a regulator can navigate, tell strong evidence from weak, and present your remediation at an appraisal, review, or hearing.
Is there a real assessment?
Yes, a genuine one. Each module includes knowledge checks, and the course ends with a 15-question final assessment you must pass at 80% to receive your certificate. Your certificate reflects assessed learning, not attendance.
How long does it take?
Approximately 2.5 hours, worth 2.5 CPD hours. Entirely self-paced, so you can stop at any point and return later. Your progress is saved throughout.
Which regulator is this for?
All eight UK healthcare regulators: GMC, NMC, GDC, GPhC, HCPC, GOC, GCC, and GOsC. The principles of remediation are the same across every regulator, and the examples are drawn from a range of professions.
Can I use this to prepare for a review?
Yes. If you practise under conditions or undertakings and have a review ahead, remediation is central to it. The course covers evidencing durable change and preparing for a review directly, including how to show a panel that restrictions can safely be reduced.
Who reviewed the course?
Every lesson was reviewed and approved by a medically qualified doctor (MBBS) before publication. This is a substantive review of clinical accuracy and regulatory alignment, not a nominal sign-off.
What do I receive on completion?
A downloadable certificate of completion, a remediation plan template, an evidence bundle checklist, and a timeline planner. All are accessible from your account permanently once you pass the final assessment.
